  • Bayou Meto State Game Area - Hunting Weekend Getaway

Bayou Meto has got the distinction of being the largest state-owned wildlife management area in the entire U.S. The area encompasses 33,700 acres and features eight permanent streams, six lakes as well as twelve intermediate streams. It is regarded as one of the top most duck hunting areas in North America and has even been nicknamed Duck Capital of The World amongst the hunting community. During the peak hunting season, the entire area is packed with hunters and waterfowls. The area also features other attractions like campsites, archery range, observation tower and concrete boat ramps.
