Great Falls Park is one of the most happening outdoor recreations in Virginia. It is a small national park covering nearly 900 acres. This amazing vacations getaways is located along the banks of the Potomac River in northern Fairfax County. The stunning natural beauty of the park attracts thousands of visitors every year. Tourists can not only enjoy scenic hike through swamps and lowland forests, but also find designated observation areas to view the Great Falls, one of which is wheelchair accessible.

Visitors get great opportunities to do numerous exciting things in the park such as - Fishing, hiking, barbecuing, picnicking, exploring history and nature, Horseback riding, whitewater boating, bicycling and the most challenging thing that you can do here is Rock climbing.

Great Falls Park houses one of the most important U.S engineering structures of the 18th century, the Patowmack Canal, that offers a glimpse into the early history of this country. There is a Visitor Center located right in the park, where visitors are given complete information about the park and it’s activities. It is open from 10 am until 4 pm and Great Falls Park is open daily from 7 am. until dark.
