The Historic Blakeley State Park was created in 1981 to preserve the National Register Site and its 5 1/2 miles of pristine erosion-controlling fortifications. It is spread in 3800 acres which lies east of the Mississippi River and is nestled beside the Tensaw River. In this state park visitors will enjoy activities like Hiking, fishing, bicycle and horseback riding, picnicking, and canoe launching. Blakeley State Park is located north of Spanish Fort in the central western region of Alabama.
