If you want to visit one of the most magnificent glaciers in Alaska, then don't look beyond Mendenhall Glacier. It is one of the numerous glaciers in Alaska and is flowing away from the majestic Juneau Ice Field. The ice field in itself is another attraction spread on 1,500 square mile and featuring huge area of glaciated ice which is surrounded by rugged mountain peaks. A visitor's center is also located at 13 road miles from Juneau from where tourists can get lots of information about glacier dynamics and history and can also take pictures of the terminus of the glacier.
