The Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area was established in 10 Nov 1978, for the preservation of the Santa Monica Mountains. The SMMNRA has many things to do which involves enthusiasts of all ages in its wide ranging mountain activities. The Santa Monica Mountains is a vast network of individual parks, ranches, canyons, grasslands, and open spaces that offers visitors with the best scenic views ever. The recreation area includes beaches which are adjacent to the park property. Here one can indulge into many activities like hiking, biking, camping, horseback riding, birding, also enjoying wildflowers. One can visit the visitor center, Will Rogers State Historic Park or can even go to a ranger-guided tour of the Paramount Ranch.
